The role material condition plays in artistic production and the utility of art objects has been frequently obscured in the discipline of art history. This year’s symposium will foreground materiality with an emphasis on raw materials, both in the production of art objects and in artistic depictions.
UNC’s Art Students Graduate Organization (ASGO) is excited to welcome you to the 9th annual ASGO symposium. This year’s symposium will center on questions of affect, agency, and emotion in the visual arts.
Join us at Sloane Art Library on Monday, March 4 from 2 to 5pm for a communal updating of Wikipedia entries on subjects related to gender, art, and feminism. We will provide tutorials for the beginner Wikipedian, reference materials, and light refreshments.
