Saba Taj is a visual artist based in Durham, NC. Inspired by beauty, queerness, and Islam, Taj engages with representation as a resilience practice. Their work includes mixed-media drawing, painting, and collage, as well as sewing and performance.
Christa Clarke, Independent Curator and Former Curator of the Arts of Global Africa, Newark Museum of Art, will speak on her new book The Activist Collector: Lida Clanton Broner’s 1938 Journey from Newark to South Africa (The Newark Museum of Art and Rutgers University Press).
The John and June Allcott Undergraduate Travel Fellowship enables two students--one in art history and one in studio art--to travel in pursuit of an independent, career-related project within the United States or Abroad during the summer.
Alex Da Corte explores the nuances of contemporary life in his videos, installations, paintings, and sculptures, which are often united together in richly-hued, dreamlike environments. With a keen attention to color and form, Da Corte draws from a wide range of sources, including popular and consumer culture, art history, and modern design
Andrew McClellan is currently a Carl and Lily Pforzheimer Foundation Fellow at the National Humanities Center and on leave from the Department of the History of Art and Architecture at Tufts University.
Abigail DeVille’s most recent solo exhibition was Light of Freedom, organized by Madison Square Park Conservancy (2020-21), and traveled to the Momentary at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, Bentonville, AR (2021) and the Hirshhorn Museum Sculpture Garden, Washington, DC (2021-22).
Sergia Jimenez (b.2000, Carrboro, NC) is a multidisciplinary artist, DJ, producer, and student of Studio Art and Anthropology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
