John and June Allcott Gallery: Fereshteh Toosi, Who saves who?

Interdisciplinary Miami-based artist Fereshteh Toosi designs contemplative, sensory outdoor experiences as part of her ongoing project, Nature Connection Arts Lab. Fereshteh brings her work indoors to the Allcott Gallery with a plant listening lounge, guided meditations, graphic scores, and video diaries documenting her walking research. Toosi is an active member of the Association of Forest and Nature Therapy Guides and the American Horticultural Therapy Association. She studied at Oberlin College and Carnegie Mellon University, where she earned an MFA in Interdisciplinary Art. She also holds a certificate in Environmental Urban Design from Archeworks in Chicago. Toosi is an Assistant Professor in the Art and Art History Department of the College of Communication, Architecture and the Arts at Florida International University.
