2025 ASGO Symposium: (UN)Contained
February 22 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Free
Keynote Speaker: Anna Indych-López, The Graduate Center and The City College at CUNY, “Cosmic Thing: Doing and Undoing Mexico City”
“Space,” “place,” and “agency” are widely theorized from different disciplinary traditions, producing multidimensional perspectives on concepts of representation, relationality, the body, and the logics and lived realities within our social, economic, and political systems. Our symposium is rooted in questions like: What are the political and personal consequences of creating social space? How do narrative building and placemaking occur in deviant communities of humans, others, or in the liminal spaces between? And how does understanding place and spatial relations shape our study of the social objects, sites, ecologies, and images that are the material evidence of culture?
Schedule: TBA
The symposium will begin with breakfast. This event is free and open to the public.
