“The 2019 Atlanta Biennial presents works by twenty artists from the region who are simultaneously engaged in both immediately local, regionally specific conversations and larger themes pervading our world. Since its inception in 1985 the Atlanta Biennial has been an important platform for contemporary art from our region. The exhibition aims to address complexities and deep vernacular traditions of the Southeast. This exhibition continues the longstanding efforts of Atlanta Contemporary to present and debut newly commissioned work by artists from around our region.”
I feel incredibly honored to be exhibiting some of my form drawings in this exhibition. I will be in Atlanta for the opening, so if you are local, please do come say hi!

Towards the end of 2018, my partner Ben Alper and I published our first photographic collaboration. The photographs collected in this book were made in various ‘show caves’ around the southeastern United States. Also referred to as ‘tourist caves’, these spaces exist at the intersection of commerce and ecology. However, what began more explicitly as an exploration of our tenuous relationship to nature, gave way to a broader interest in the spatial strangeness and symbolic potential of these subterranean landscapes.
Over half the edition has already sold out, but there’s still time to get a copy.
