Greenville Museum of Art Biennial Juried Art Exhibition

Community Reception Friday February 5, 5:00-8:00 pm 

The Greenville Museum of Art announces the opening of the GMA Biennial Juried Art Exhibition with a community reception on Friday, February 5, 2013 from 5:00pm-8:00pm. Prizes will be awarded for Best in Show, First, Second, and Third place. Ninety artists throughout the North Carolina entered over 300 pieces to be selected for the Juried Art Exhibition. The outcome of our jurying process was 84 artworks by 62 artists were selected. Artworks range in all types of media.

Our Juror is Theresa Hammond. Theresa Hammond is the founding director and curator of Guilford College Art Gallery in Greensboro, NC. She earned her B.F.A. in painting and printmaking from Guilford, and has certificates of study from the Getty Center’s Museum Leadership Institute; the Smithsonian Institution; the Managing the Arts Institute at UNC-Chapel Hill; and the American Law Institute-American Bar Association at Sackler Art Museum, Harvard University.

Recycled, Repurposed, Recovered: Found Object Art is the sixth annual international juried exhibition hosted by the A.D. Gallery. It offers a progressive, contemporary approach to found object art, exploring a wide range of means to recycle or repurpose otherwise discarded or used objects.
