Susan Harbage Page photographs objects found at the international border (objects trouvĂ©s), in the Rio Grande Valley, near Brownsville (USA) and Matamoros (Mexico). The photographs, part of her Border Project, depict no immigrants, only the dried out clothes that they left behind after making it across the river. The photographs do not depict guards either, but they show bullet casings and detention gloves that remain.See the photographs featured in Emory University’s Southern Spaces as part of a photo essay, Residues of Border Control, co-authored with Ines Valdez. And also see them featured in UNC’s Endeavors as part of a photo essay, Cast Aside: Left Behind, authored by Margarite Nathe.
