Renzo Ortega (1974) began his artistic career in the art and underground music scene of his native Lima-Perú. Later he emigrated to the United States, he lived and worked in New York for over sixteen years. In the fall of 2016, Renzo relocated to Carrboro, North Carolina. He received a BFA in painting from La Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes del Perú (1999), studied at the Art Students League of New York (2000-04), he is a visionary founder member and was the artistic director of Local Project, a not-for-profit art organization in Queens, New York and has his MFA in painting from Hunter College (2014).
Ruba Katrib was recently appointed as a curator for MoMA PS1. She was previously the SculptureCenter's Curator and was responsible for organizing exhibitions, educational and public programs, publications, and for coordinating all aspects of program presentation. At SculptureCenter she produced the group shows The Eccentrics(2015), Puddle, Pothole, Portal (2014) (co-curated with artist Camille Henrot), Better Homes (2013), and A Disagreeable Object (2012).
