PhD Candidate Krysta Black Article Published in Current Volume of Ars Orientalis

Black Ars Orientalis

Congratulations to Graduate Student Krysta Black, whose article "Bible Illustration in Tenth-Century Iberia: Reconsidering the Role of al-Andalus in the Leon Bible of 960" was just published in volume 42 of Ars Orientalis! The current issue of Ars Orientalis, volume 42, features articles based on papers presented at the Second Biennial Symposium of the Historians of Islamic Art Association. Held in October 2010, Objects, Collections, and Cultures brought curators, art historians, and other specialists from across the globe to the Freer and Sackler Galleries for three days of presentations. With nearly twenty essays—and a corresponding website featuring three essays on the cinema of the Middle East—this expanded volume also marks the first printing of Ars Orientalis with color illustrations.
